Leonsergent communications - Prise de parole en public/Public Speaking

With all due respect to graphic designers, multimedia designers, and other communications and marketing specialists, I implore you to take it easy!

In the last few weeks, I have had the opportunity to review Powerpoint slides of different organizations. Municipal, provincial and federal governments; production companies, distribution companies, large pharmaceutical companies, financial and professional services consulting firms, and even those of communication trainers in my community. The same issue with all these slides. Graphic designers and communications departments have imposed a Powerpoint slide template on presenters that leaves them speechless!

Indeed, forced to use graphic signatures combining several colors, logos that are a little too conspicuous, color bands, at the top, bottom and on the sides, photos and illustrations and of their internal communications department, the space for text and tables is now very limited. Texts become smaller and tables and graphs difficult to read. The speaker and the audience have no chance.

Here's a simple idea to share with designers and how to do it:

1. In a blank slide, create a text box.

2. In the text box, write 6 sentences of six words.

3. Each sentence will be accompanied by a bullet or the list will be numbered.bullet) ou la liste sera numérotée.

4. Double line spacing, 32-point font, no bold, embossed or shading effect.

5. The remaining space will be used for the 40-point title (font size) and a discreet graphic signature or branding.

Everyone who presents in front of an audience thanks you with relief.

Respectfully.

Happy presentations!
